Coverage Area

The Montgomery County ESD #6 / Porter Fire Department jurisdiction spans 56 square miles across the unincorporated southeastern portions of Montgomery County.  Our district boundaries are roughly identified as the following:

  • Southern and Eastern Borders: City of Houston or Harris County lines.
  • Northern Border: Just north of the Grand Parkway (Hwy 99).
  • Western Border: Old Houston Drive

We are responsible for a very diverse category of property and types and classifications.  Major territorial responsibilities that we have include portions of Hwy 59 / Interstate 69, the Grand Parkway, major railcar passage, natural gas pipelines, and the West Fork of the San Jacinto River. 

Our structural demographic includes occupancies from the low and mid-rise building category, numerous apartment complexes, ~ 20,000 residences and 55,000 residents, over 14 of New Caney ISD school campuses, and many commercial businesses of all sizes, including private mom and pop style retail to major big box stores.  Some of our recent developments include a 100,000,000 sq ft. retail space Town Center and a big box distribution center.

We provide our service from 3 Fire Stations strategically located within our jurisdictional boundaries.
