Testing Process 

1. Applicants must pass a written exam with a grade of 70 or higher.

(Source material taken from Seventh Edition of IFSTA Essentials of Firefighting)

2. Applicants must pass a PAT (Physical Agility Test)

 The link below is a demonstration of the required skills for the Physical Agility Test. 

3. Candidate must pass:   

  • Written Exam
  • Physical Agility Test
  • Scheduled Interview
  • Conditional Job Offer
  • Medical Physical Exam
Minimum Qualifications 
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must be 18 years of age 
  • Must have basic certification for Structural Fire Suppression from the T.C.F.P.
  • Must be EMT- B certified  through the Texas Department of Health or National Registry
  • Applicants should have a Texas Class C Drivers License or better.
